Marvin Victor Marmande Sr., age 88, a native of Bayou Dularge, died March 14, 2018, peacefully, in his home at St. Michel Plantation. He was a loving father and husband, avid hunter and fishermen, a successful businessman who is the founder of M &
L Industries and M & L Engine that just celebrated 65 years of business.
Besides being a pioneer in business and in charitable organizations, he was a deeply spiritual man and devoted to his Catholic faith. He was a founder of many charitable organizations such as the Serra Club (which fosters vocations for the priesthood),
a member of the Board of Directors for Catholic Social Services and served on the New Orleans Archdiocesan Vocation Committee and was very active in his St. Eloi Parish as Lay Minister, Finance Committee Chairman, and Drive Committee Chairman for
building of St. Eloi Catholic Church and Rectory. He received the Papal Honor – Pro Ecclesia Et Pontific from Pope Paul VI. Archbishop Philip Hannan presented him with the Medal at St. Louis Cathedral.
Marvin also served on the Audit Committee for Terrebonne Bank and the Compensation and Merging Committee for the Premier Bank Board and also Bank 1 Board
in Baton Rouge. He was so accomplished yet he lived a life of service to God, his family, his community, his country and church.
